A group chat is not a trip plan.

Faring is the group trip planner for the one who organizes everyone else. Put the trip in once, and everyone gets their own days.

iPhone. Free while it’s in beta.

Sound familiar?

Nine people. Four arrival days. One thread, 400 messages long.

The chat is where the trip gets talked about. Faring is where it lives.

See four kinds of group

Who it’s for

For the one who organizes. And everyone they organize.

You, the one who organizes
One plan, with every booking in it. The questions stop coming to you; the answer is in the trip.
The one who helps
Your partner, your sister, the friend who books the restaurants. They edit everything and invite people.
The ones who add their own flights
Their own arrival, ideas and to-dos, without running anything.
Nana, the teenagers, the friend who won’t install anything
On the trip with their own dates, app or no app. If they open Faring, they see today’s plan and nothing they could break.

Two of you on one itinerary? Notes is fine. Faring is for when the plans don’t match.

How it works, in four steps

A woman at a kitchen table in the evening with her phone propped against a mug, a passport and a few printed confirmations, the rest of the family out of focus in the next room

A trip, start to finish

Home knows what day it is.

Before you go: what’s due and what’s still to pay. While you’re there: what’s next and where you sleep tonight. After: the plan as it happened.

Home three weeks before a trip: the Lisbon card, one item to review, a deadline to confirm the airport transfer, and two balances still to pay

01

Everyone gets their own trip.

A person on the trip is a name and their dates. Nana arrives Tuesday, so Tuesday onward is hers. Groups overlap however the trip does, and Home says who’s here today.

Your parents are on the trip without installing anything. The people who help can edit; the ones who just need today get a view they can’t break.

A Person screen for Amara Okafor with Dates on the trip: 9 days, 8 nights, and her plan for today

02

It works on the ferry.

30 days That’s how long the trip stays on your phone with no signal. Edit anything; it goes out when you’re back. If someone changed the same thing while you were in the tunnel, you get a note and a choice.

Recent changes shows before and after, with a name on it. Undo for 30 days.

Recent changes: today’s changes listed with how many items each touched, and when

03

Night trains and port calls, on one line.

A journey has two ends and things on the way: the layover, the all-aboard time, the port call at Split. Faring draws it that way. A cruise day continues from yesterday into tomorrow; a sleeper crosses midnight without losing its place.

A cruise Day titled Split port day: continues from Day 1, a port call, a walk, all aboard at 2:30, the night at sea

04

Share the email. Faring types it up.

  • Share it from any app. A confirmation email, a PDF, a boarding pass. Faring reads it on the phone and fills in the booking for you to check.
  • Pick it from Calendar. The events between the trip’s dates become bookings and activities.
  • Or say it. “Add to Faring” to Siri, a link from the chat, or a confirmation pasted into Claude, with a preview first.

05

Put it to a vote.

Two restaurants, one evening. Put the Ideas to a vote: pick one, or a first and second choice. Everyone on the trip votes, and the winner goes on the day with one tap.

Also in the beta.

  • Packing lists and to-dos, ticked per person, with templates you keep between trips.
  • Who’s bringing what, with a name and a quantity on each item.
  • Documents on every booking, marked “Only you” when private.
  • Search that answers “when does our ferry leave”, from your documents too.
  • Ideas for what isn’t on a day yet; a shared link becomes one.
  • Shake to report, with a screenshot you mark up.
  • Claude Desktop and Claude Code, with your own role, a preview before it writes, and undo.

Everything, with its status

Private to your group.

No ads. Nothing sold.

Your trips are visible to the people you put on them and nobody else.

The AI that makes suggestions never sees names, booking codes, dates or links.

Delete your account and export everything from Settings, with a 7-day grace period.

What it doesn’t do. Yet.

  • Android, iPad, Mac, web, Watch, widgets. iPhone only, today.
  • Forward your booking emails. Designed, coming next. Share from Mail for now.
  • A read-only link for people without the app. Coming next.
  • Push notifications or flight alerts. None.
  • Splitting expenses. Not planned. Faring tracks what a booking costs and what’s paid.
  • ChatGPT. Next, once we’ve verified it end to end. Claude Desktop and Claude Code today.
  • Offline maps, travel-time warnings. No.

Why we built this

We were the ones who scrolled back.

We organize our families’ trips. Nine people, two countries, four arrival days, and a chat that buried the plan by Tuesday. The trip apps organized our reservations and nobody else’s. Notes held a plan but not the people. The chat held the people and lost the plan.

So we built the one we wanted. It’s on iPhone, in a private beta, free while it is. If you organize the trips in your life, we’d like you in it, and we’d like to hear what you’d change.

Bring one real trip.

Faring is in a private beta on iPhone. We let people in a few at a time, each with a real trip, because that’s how we find out what’s wrong.

Free while it’s in beta, for you and everyone you invite. What free means, and for how long.

We keep your email. Nothing else, and it’s shared with nobody.

We email you a link to confirm. We write back when there’s a place.
